RE: Remote scope issues
I find that internet explorer works much better than other web browsers regarding the escope connection. You also need to make sure you're in the Control tab in order to access the front panel buttons. Regarding openchoice communication, you may need to check in with your IT department as I've found some companies have firewalls in place that can prevent instrument communication with openchoice via LAN. A program firewall exception my need to be made.

RE: Software to control scope
The most straight forward UI for remote operation would probably be e*Scope which can be accessed by navigating to the scope's IP address in a web browser but this would require a LAN connection rather than USB. For direct control over USB you can use the command set from the programmers manual (https://www.tek.com/en/manual/oscilloscope/3-series-mixed-domain-oscilloscope-3-series-mdo) as well as the free tool made by one of our engineers, TekScope Utility: https://forum.tek.com/viewtopic.php?f=571&t=140451

RE: Remote measurement on TDS754 scope
Consider using a Negative Width measurement and using the cursors to gate it to the portion of the waveform you are interested in. You can find information on this measurement on page B-11 of the user manual.

RE: Program recovery
You should be able to access the licenses Electro Rents AMS licenses and check them out to the scope.

RE: RSA507A Recording raw IQ files
The USB-RSAs can only save .r3f or Midas (CDIF) files when streaming. You can use DataVu-PC to convert them to SIQ.

RE: DSA8300 and 80C15 Dark-level compensation
It's a common practice to run Dark-level compensation immediately prior to any testing. Typically you want your equipment to be powered on for at least 20 minutes to allow any temperature induced offsets equalize, then run Dark-level compensation, then proceed with taking measurements. Some measurements are very sensitive to Dark-level compensation. I don't think that there is going to be so much a time interval related answer but rather temperature related. Here's an application note that briefly describes this: https://download.tek.com/document/85W_15763_0.pdf. And the excerpt I'm referring to:
"Dark Level Compensation must be run every time the instrument’s temperature changes. For sensitive measurements, the Dark Level Compensation
should be run whenever the settings of the instrument are significantly
changed. This is critical for higher values of Extinction Ratio (cca over 10). For
the most accurate results, the Dark Level Compensation should be run with
horizontal SCALE (time/div) and vertical SCALE (µW/div) set to the same ranges
at which the measurements will be performed. Alternately, the signal level can
be monitored when no light is connected, and the Compensation run only
when the offset level exceeds a desired limit." -
