  • RE: 600V input?

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:29:44 GMT – 600V input?

    Hello,

We do offer several probes that would allow for you to safely measure up to 600V with the TBS1052C. Below you can find links to both our high voltage single ended and high voltage differential probes. For your use case consider either the P5200A for differential or the P5122 for single ended measurements.

    Hello,
If this probe or others like have past before then the unit should come in for a repair. If not you can send in the TDP0500 to our Factory service team can verify and repair if needed.

To set up a repair RMA (model and serial number)

  • RE: Seeing 40V limit on 2450

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:29:40 GMT – Seeing 40V limit on 2450

This would likely be due to the interlock not being engaged. Please refer to the 2450 manual: https://www.tek.com/en/source-measure-units/keithley-smu-2400-series-sourcemeter-manual/models-2450ec-2460ec-and-2461ec-potentiostats-and-galvanostats-users-manual

  • RE: 4 wire resistance measurement with Keithley 2000, Keithley 2400, or Keithley 2812?

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:29:38 GMT – 4 wire resistance measurement with Keithley 2000, Keithley 2400, or Keithley 2812?

These requirements would be pushing the capabilities of the 2000 DMM. Therefore, I recommended you use the 2400 and 2182A combination.

  • RE: 4 wire resistance measurements with 2000 DMM?

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:29:36 GMT – 4 wire resistance measurements with 2000 DMM?

For milliohm measurements the Keithley 2000 would use 100-ohm range, with a 1mA source current.

  • RE: How can I make 4 wire milliohm measurements with 2000 DMM?

Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:29:34 GMT – How can I make 4 wire milliohm measurements with 2000 DMM?

The instrument resistance is spec'd at ~30ppm of range after 24 hours, ~40ppm of range after 1 year, on the minimum resistance range of 100 ohms, that is a 3-4 milliohm accuracy or uncertainty. This could be + or -.

However, that range uses a 1mA test current, which means the voltage of a 3 milliohm resistance would be 3uV. Any EMI or even just external electric fields, static electricity, or additional junction voltages from other sources will easily affect this measurement.

You could provide shielding around the test leads which is connected to the instrument chassis (isolated from the test leads) and this may reduce EMI susceptibility.

A different instrument which uses a higher source current will raise the measured voltage higher, bringing it above any small voltage error contributors, and thus above the "mud".

Our DMM6500 instrument uses a 10mA test current on the 1Ohm range, which brings the voltage level up 10x compared to the model 2000 DMM. However, it may still be susceptible to voltage error contributors if high enough.

We have many customers measuring milliohms or even microohms with a Source Measure Unit (SMU) like the 2450. With that instrument, you could source 100mA or even 1A and measure voltage levels high enough to be well above noise/error levels.

  • RE: Replacement for 3792-KIT104-R?

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:29:32 GMT – Replacement for 3792-KIT104-R?

    Hello,
The 3792-KIT104-R is obsolete. There is not a replacement part. I recommend looking to see if Mouser, Digikey, etc… have available stock

  • RE: How do I connect external devices to 3720 Card for 3706A?

Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:29:30 GMT – How do I connect external devices to 3720 Card for 3706A?

    Hello,
Yes. The Model 3720 uses two 78-pin male D-sub connectors for signal connections. For screw terminal or automatic CJC, use the detachable Model 3720-ST accessory.

  • RE: Can you recommend a replacement for the 370A?

Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:29:28 GMT – Can you recommend a replacement for the 370A?

    I recommend the 2651A
