  • RE: P6021A compatibility question

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:34:53 GMT – P6021A compatibility question

Yes the P6021A does have a standard BNC connection. It will work with other scopes that have 1M termination. There are some other factors that come into play (termination impedance/capacitance, etc.). From a connection standpoint though it will work with all BNC scopes.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

  • RE: Unable to connect MSO44 via NI software

Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:34:51 GMT – Unable to connect MSO44 via NI software

From my experience, an instrument should be capable of communication/control even with this exclamation present, but this does mean there is a ‘warning’ with the overall connection. However, there are a few things to try to resolve this warning.

Ensure that the device (instrument, MSO44) is found/discoverable within Device manager.
    1. Connect the scope to the computer using the ‘Device Port’ on the back of the instrument (MSO44). Connect this to a Host Port on your PC.
    2. Device Manager -> USB Test and Measurement Devices -> USB Test and Measurement Devices (IVI).
    3. Be sure to update drivers if this is needed.

My next suggestion would be to uninstall all VISAs currently installed on the computer connecting with the MSO44. Then reinstall TekVISA first, and NI-Visa Second.
    1. Uninstall all VISAs from computer (TekVISA, and all other VISAs).
    2. Install TeKVISA - TEKVISA Connectivity Software - V4.2.0: https://www.tek.com/en/support/software/driver/tekvisa-connectivity-software-v420
    3. Install NI-VISA -V21.5: https://www.ni.com/en-us/support/downloads/drivers/download.ni-visa.html#442805

After you have performed the steps above, see if you can send a *IDN? Command to the instrument (MSO$$) via Tektronix VISA Resource Manager or NI-MAX. If so, attempt to send the same *IDN? Command within Labview.

If possible, I would suggest connecting/communicating with the MSO44 via ethernet instead of USB. While USB does provide a stable connection, I have found that Ethernet is the most Efficient and effective method for remote operation/control of the instrument through programable commands (SCPI) or E*Scope. I understand that this is not always a possibility.

  • RE: Which Scopes is the P5205 compatible with?

Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:34:48 GMT – Which Scopes is the P5205 compatible with?

The P5205 can connect directly a oscilloscope that feature a TekProbe interface. You can also use scopes that feature the TekVPI interface by using a TPA-BNC adapter.

If you would like to use a third party oscilloscope, or one that features a standard BNC interface use the 1103 Probe Power supply. Though this will require you to manually set the attenuation on the scope.

    TPA-BNC adapter:

  • RE: What is the default password for the TBS 2000b

Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:34:47 GMT – What is the default password for the TBS 2000b

There is no default password for the TBS2000B, you should be able to press enter to control the scope. If it tells you that is the incorrect password speak with your professor or lab administrator to get the password.

  • RE: s it possible to buy some sort of adapter for the back of the tdc210 to be able to connect it to a computer for interfacing with matlab or labview?

Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:34:45 GMT – s it possible to buy some sort of adapter for the back of the tdc210 to be able to connect it to a computer for interfacing with matlab or labview?

The communication modules that worked with the TDS210 are no longer available for sale, It has been close to 20 years since we offered them. There might be a chance to find a used one searching the web.

Here is information on the modules.
TDS2CM or TDS2CMA version CMV:v1.04 and above, or TDS2MM any
version, when used in TDS210 and TDS220 instruments with FV:v1.09 and
    above.

  • RE: Which probes work with the MDO 2 series

Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:34:41 GMT – Which probes work with the MDO 2 series

These three probes are compatible with the 3 series MDO. The TDP1500 does have a higher bandwidth than our 3 series, but this will not affect the compatibility up to the scope bandwidth limit.

  • RE: Add CH1 and CH2 signals on an AFT 1062

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:34:39 GMT – Add CH1 and CH2 signals on an AFT 1062

I recommend using a 50 ohm resistive power splitter/combiner like the Mini-Circuits ZFRSC-2050+ (https://www.minicircuits.com/WebStore/dashboard.html?model=ZFRSC-2050%2B). Using a BNC-tee won’t damage your AFG but you might not get the amplitude you expect due to double loading. What amplitude (and frequency) are you looking for and is this something you need often?

  • RE: Can I receive an output from Signal Express without the program on my FCA 3100?

Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:34:37 GMT – Can I receive an output from Signal Express without the program on my FCA 3100?

Yes, you can get information to a computer without SignalExpress by writing some software. Please see the programmers manual below for examples and commands to control the FCA3000.

  • RE: Remote PC Access a DPO 2024

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:34:35 GMT – Remote PC Access a DPO 2024

You can remotely view the screen and change settings with e*Scope. To use e*Scope, connect your scope to ethernet and then enter the IP address into your browser address bar. You will need to make sure that your computer and your scope are on the same network.

    Need DPO2CONN for ethernet
