  • RE: TDS2022C and Excel 2010 addin

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:39:20 GMT – TDS2022C and Excel 2010 addin

    Hello,

Here is the link for the Excel toolbar: https://www.tek.com/en/support/software/utility/tektronix-toolbars-microsoft-office-32-bit-v404. I believe this would be what you need. This software is out of support, but should still work for you.

  • RE: Software for Remote Use of TDS2014

Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:39:18 GMT – Software for Remote Use of TDS2014

    Hello,

The TDS2000 does not have a software option that will be able to do both of these functions. I suggest looking at TekScope Utility for remotely saving waveforms and programmatic control for remotely triggering the unit. You can find more info and download TekScope Utility here: https://forum.tek.com/viewtopic.php?f=571&t=140451

    Thank you.

  • RE: RSA 306B Software Error

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:39:16 GMT – RSA 306B Software Error

The RSA306B is designed to connect to SignalVu-PC which is available as a free download from here: https://www.tek.com/en/support/software/application/signalvupc-vector-signal-analysis-software-v450093

There are several paid software options for SignalVu-PC that expand its functionality and offer free 30 day trials but the base software is free. The datasheet elaborates more on these features here: https://www.tek.com/en/datasheet/vector-and-rf-suite-signal-analysis-software-pc

If you are looking for the latest instrument firmware you can find that here: https://www.tek.com/en/support/software/firmware/series-2650a-firmware-and-release-notes--v120

For instrument control you should look into Kickstart. It can be downloaded from our website here: https://www.tek.com/en/support/software/application/2-7-0

  • RE: How to take screen shots on 5 Series MSO?

Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:39:13 GMT – How to take screen shots on 5 Series MSO?

    Thanks for contacting us,

There are a few approaches here so I'll try to offer enough information for you to choose what would work best for you. If you want to view and remotely operate the scope you can use e*Scope by networking the scope and accessing it's IP address from a web browser or by simply using a remote desktop application if you are using the Windows drive. Additionally, if you are using the Windows drive you can also save files (including screenshots) directly to a networked drive the same way you can with any other Windows computer. If you want to save screenshots directly from the scope to the computer you can use the SCPI commands outlined in the programmers manual or you can try this free piece of software created by one of our engineers: https://forum.tek.com/viewtopic.php?t=140382 Lastly, if you want a more robust remote UI for working with your scope(s) you can look into our paid software that fully replicates the UI locally on your computer: https://www.tek.com/en/products/software/tekscope-pc-analysis-software

  • RE: Update Firmware onTDS3024B

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:39:11 GMT – Update Firmware onTDS3024B

That is not a supported way to upgrade the FW and has not been tested. You should save the firmware to floppy disk and install directly via floppy to the scope.

  • RE: MDO3 Socket Server & External Trigger

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:39:10 GMT – MDO3 Socket Server & External Trigger

    Thanks for contacting us,

The MDO 3 Series scopes do not have an AUX input that can be used as a trigger source, so any triggering will need to be done from the analog channels themselves. The MDO 3 Series scope does support remote connectivity options over LAN including e*Scope, LXI compatibility, as well as the features native to VISA compatibility such as programmatic control over LAN. You can find further details about the instrument on its webpage (https://www.tek.com/en/datasheet/3-series-mdo).

  • RE: MDO3014 Slow Sample Rate

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:39:08 GMT – MDO3014 Slow Sample Rate

    Thanks for contacting us,

You can control the sample rate of the scope by setting the Horizontal scale and the Record Length (Record Length/Sample Rate = Acquisition Time). If in doubt, or uncertain what settings have been adjusted you can press the Default Setup button to change the horizontal settings back to default values.

  • RE: TBS2204B and TDS2024C refresh rate differences

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:39:06 GMT – TBS2204B and TDS2024C refresh rate differences

    Hi,

For the TDS-2KC at 5ms/division (50ms total capture) with a fixed record length of 2500 samples should have a sample rate of 50Ks/sec. Or, it takes about 50ms to fill a 2500 sample record length on this scope.

For the TBS-2KB at 4ms/division (40ms total capture) the scope fixes a sample rate at 312KS/sec which means to fill a 20,000-sample record length takes about 64ms vs the 50ms it took to fill the TDS-2KC’s 2500 sample RL. This makes the update rate appear to be slower than the TDS-2KC.

Also depending on your signals’ frequency, I also think we may be seeing some aliasing effects (due to a lower sample rate), which can show up as a slowed waveform refresh rate.

You can halve your horizontal to 2ms / division (20ms total capture), which for a 20K record length will double the sample rate to 624Ks/sec (fixed value for a RL of 20K samples for this scope) which should help with the refresh rate.

  • RE: DPO2004 similar product?

    Wed, 28 Sep 2022 22:39:05 GMT – DPO2004 similar product?

The closest equivalent would likely be the MSO2004B: https://www.tek.com/en/products/oscilloscopes/mso2000-dpo2000 It has an extremely similar programmatic command set and similar performance to the DPO2004. I'd also recommend looking at the newly launched MSO 2 Series scopes (https://www.tek.com/en/products/oscilloscopes/2-series-mso) as they depart a bit further from the DPO 2000 Series footprint but offer more bang-for-your-buck performance wise and come with a translator layer for their command set to assist with programmatic compatibility.
